Estimation of lag time of runoff for a small agricultural catchment
Keywords: small catchments, rainfall-runoff process, runoff lag time
Abstract: Catchment lag time, defined as the elapsed time between the occurence of the centroids of efective rainfall and the direct runoff hydrograph, has been estimated for a small, lowland agricultural watershed of Gzówka river. The investigated watershed, with area of 39.3 km2, is located near town Radom in the Centre of Poland. Mean value of lag time estimated from rainfall-runoff events was 13.9 h. Taking into account 10 empirical formulas for estimatig the watershed lag time, the best results has obtained from Nash equation (6) and Wackermann equation (12).
