Abstract: The analysis of influence of rainfall infiltration and lateral erosion of riverbank on slope stability is presented in the paper. Studied landslide is situated at the Flysch Carpathians (Bieśnik near Gorlice, Beskid Niski Mts.) and it was activated in 2010. Field and laboratory tests included land surveying measurements and determination of geotechnical parameters of soils. In the further part of work were done slope stability calculations, which included influence of infiltration process and erosion range at the toe of slope on stress state change within the slope. Tests revealed, that analyzed landslide originated in the area of the unfavorable geological conditions, where subsoil is composed of poorly permeable clays and schists of medium and high plasticity. In turn, the slope stability calculations have shown a significant and of a similar scope of the impact of rainfall and fluvial processes (lateral erosion) on stability of the analyzed slope.
