Deformation parameters of organic soils for design improvement of subsoil under expressway on the basis of in situ tests

Abstract:
In the paper the methodology of in situ tests, FVT soundings and DMT carried out in the organic subsoil.
Based on the test results the undrained shear strength (τfu) and the constrained modulus M for peat and gyttja
were estimated within depth profile. The results obtained from the in situ tests allowed obtaining reliable
values of geotechnical parameters to predict the behavior of the organic subsoil under load.
