In the paper natural frequencies of a pole with a variable cross-section were obtained. The pole was made
of a homogeneous, elastic material. Solutions were obtained by approximation of the continuous change of
the cross-section by changing by steps. The results are compared with the results obtained with Rayleigh’s
method.
