GLAZINGS IN ARCHITECTURE OF LOW-ENERGY CONSUMING SMALL DWELLING HOUSE
Keywords: building architecture, low energy consumption, glazed areas
Abstract: The energy saving in old small dwelling houses accomplished through their appropriate location, simple architecture and small window area, through which a significant heat loss occurred. In present times, there is not such limitations. It is possible to realize low-energy consuming houses and, simultaneously, optimally glazed and opened to surroundings. Thanks to high thermo-insulating power as well as high solar radiation transmittance windowpanels which decrease heat losses from heated interiors, it is possible to make an elevation with big glazed areas. The paper presents modern solutions of glazings, their role in the passive consumption of the solar energy and, most of all, in creation of architecture of a low-energy consuming small dwelling house, taking into consideration, among others, hothouses as well as glazed façade and roof systems.
